Microsoft 365 Security Snapshot
Book a free Microsoft 365 security snapshot: we review your Secure Score with your consent and send the top five fixes. From a Microsoft Solutions Partner.
What the snapshot covers
Microsoft Secure Score measures the security controls turned on in your Microsoft 365 tenant against the ones Microsoft recommends. The snapshot reads that score and the settings behind it, then tells you the five changes that matter most.
-
Secure Score and top improvement actions
Where you stand against Microsoft recommendations, and which actions move the score most.
-
Multi-factor authentication coverage
Which accounts still sign in with a password alone, including admins and shared mailboxes.
-
Admin roles and global admins
How many people hold the keys, and whether any are unused, shared or unprotected.
-
Mailbox forwarding and inbox rules
The rules attackers plant to copy your mail out quietly after a compromise.
-
External sharing and guest access
What SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams let outsiders reach, and whether links expire.
-
Legacy authentication and conditional access
Old protocols that bypass MFA, and whether sign-in policies block them.
How it works
-
Step 1
Book 30 minutes
Pick a slot. Have a global admin on the call, or someone who can approve access.
-
Step 2
Grant read-only access
On the call you approve a read-only delegated access request. You can revoke it the same day.
-
Step 3
Get the top five fixes
Within two business days you receive a one-page summary, in priority order, in plain English.
Why this is booked, not instant
Secure Score and the settings behind it are visible only to an administrator of your tenant. There is no safe way to read them anonymously from a web page, and any tool that claims to is guessing. The snapshot is read-only: we change nothing, and you keep the written summary whether or not you work with us afterwards.
Questions
- What is Microsoft Secure Score?
- Microsoft Secure Score is a measurement of your Microsoft 365 security posture, shown in the Microsoft Defender portal. It scores the identity, device, app and data controls you have turned on against the ones Microsoft recommends, and lists the improvement actions that would raise it. A higher score means fewer easy paths in for attackers.
- What is a Microsoft 365 security snapshot?
- A free 30-minute review of your Microsoft 365 tenant by a Microsoft Solutions Partner. We look at your Secure Score, multi-factor authentication coverage, admin roles, mailbox forwarding rules, external sharing, legacy authentication and conditional access, then send you a one-page summary with the top five fixes in priority order.
- Why do I have to book it instead of running it instantly?
- Secure Score and the settings behind it are only visible to an administrator of your tenant. Reading them needs your consent, which we take on the call through a read-only delegated access request that you can revoke at any time. There is no safe way to do that anonymously from a web page.
- Will you change anything in our tenant?
- No. The snapshot is read-only. You get a written summary of what we found and what we would fix first. If you want the fixes made, that is a separate conversation and a separate decision.
- What do I need to have ready?
- A global administrator (or someone who can approve access) on the call, and about 30 minutes. If you already use a Microsoft 365 partner, bring their name; we will tell you what to ask them.
- What happens after the snapshot?
- You receive the summary within two business days. Most businesses act on the top fixes themselves or with their current provider. If you would rather have bdManagedIT handle Microsoft 365 security ongoing, we quote that as part of managed IT.
